Calligraphic Papercastings

These castings are made by a method developed specifically for fine lettering by the artist. The hand-lettered design is cut in layers of polymer clay to make a mold which allows for very sharp, detailed castings using pure cotton linters. Some castings are colored by using dyed fibers or bits of art papers mixed into the pulp. The castings are quite sturdy and are permanently attached to the backing to resist warping.

Each of these castings can be ordered with colors or all white, as well as with bits of gold leaf or gold mica powder. Colors are somewhat unpredictable but can be requested to be very pale or stronger. Matting is usually done all white but can be varied by request and background colors are also "customizable". Depth usually fits into most standard frames.
